A Roseville backyard made for slowing down

This Roseville backyard was redesigned around how the family relaxes and entertains. A curving concrete path leads from the house to a circular patio with a hammock, past a lounge area sized for gathering and a lawn panel framed in planting.

Japanese maples, dark-leaved heucheras and layered shrubs give color through every season with little upkeep, and landscape lighting carries the garden well into the evening.
